Head colds, new camera and arctic weather

I am so so lucky to have a lovely new camera, a Canon 60D. I swear half the functions go waay over my head but i'm learning, slowly. So far i have taken it on two proper outings. A visit to the Hamilton Gardens and to the 3rd day of the Kaurilands dressage series. While the weather was gorgeous and sunny when i went to the gardens, the dressage today was anything but. Freezing cold wind and very gloomy. Not helped by the fact that i have an awful head cold and feel like death warmed up. I have been experimenting a lot with light and how it interacts with shapes in the environment etc. It's really interesting and i am having a lot of fun with it. Light and shadow is so fascinating to me. I used to always like taking photos of horses pretty much exclusively, now i am finding myself more interested in other areas where i can be more creative.

Anyway more blog updates to come. Hope to get out and snapping with my camera as much as i can, and hopefully improving my work!
